As you may have heard: all “co.za” websites are required to have a link to the sacoronavirus.co.za website. It was gazetted yesterday (read about it here). What happens if you don’t? No one really knows at this point, but if you don’t feel like waiting to find out, you can add the sacoronavirus.co.za link as per the instructions below:
Adding the sacoronavirus.co.za link
- Login to WordPress and go to the dashboard:
eg. www.yourdomainhere.co.za/wp-login.php (usually) - Click on Plugins, then click Add New
- Search for the Plugin named Simple Banner
- Click Install Now & then click Activate once the installation is complete
- Click Simple Banner in your sidebar to create a new banner
- For a simple “black on white” colour palette please use the following (copy-paste the bolded values):
Background Color: #FFFFFF
Text Color: #444444
Link Color: #000000
- In the “Simple Banner Text” box, copy and paste the below code:
Please find information about the coronavirus here: <a href="https://sacoronavirus.co.za/">sacoronavirus.co.za</a>
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save Changes”
- When you no longer require the link, you may just log in to your dashboard again and Deactivate the plugin via the Plugins page
